Many people set off in Genesis to read through the Bible. They persevere through Exodus and then give up in Leviticus. It is a challenging book. Let's discover whether it just says something or whether it really has something to say!
1. Share your experience with the Book of Leviticus [if any!]
2. "Our culture has decided that anything that is not entertaining is not worth listening to." Discuss.
How has this impacted the Church?
3. We know that the Old Testament sacrificial system was fulfilled when Jesus made his once and for all sacrifice on the cross for us. How does an understanding of the Old testament deepen our appreciation for what Jesus has done for us?
How does it deepen our undertanding of issues like - sacrifice [Romans 12:1-2], priesthood [1 Peter 2:9-10], law [Romans 7:14-25] and holiness [1 Peter 1:13-16]?
4. What are some common understandings / mis-understandings of holiness? Discuss
5. How can we find a balance between getting so enmeshed in the world that we become part of the problem, and becoming so distant that we cannot be part of the solution?
6. The Pharisees RE-DEFINED their terminology so they didn't have to RE-ORDER their lives. [Luke 10:29] Discuss.
