1. The recent atrocities that took place in the school in Beslan, southern Russia raises the question, “Why does God allow such evil?†You are having this discussion around the lunch table at work and somebody suddenly remembers you’re a Christian. How would you respond?
2. In Mark 4:41, the disciples asked themselves a very important question: “Who is this that even the winds and waves obey Him?â€. What did they subsequently discover?
3. How does knowing that Jesus is Lord help us in facing the challenges of life?
4. In the Gospels, fear emerges as the enemy of faith (seen in Mark 4:40 and 5:36). What is faith and how does true faith overcome fear?
5. In the Mark narrative, Jesus stilled the storm, cast out demons, healed the sick and raised the dead. Jesus can, but doesn’t always. How should we understand this?
6. Can you trust God with the challenges you face right now? Are you able to share it with the group?
