Passage: Ezekiel 37:1-14
Message: Testimonies from the Graveyard
Series: Bible Discovery 28

Ezekiel as a prophet often had to do difficult things. He had to preach what people didn’t want to hear. He had to lie on his side for 390 days to get a point across to the people.
What is one of the most difficult things you have had to do as a Christian?

1.Read v1-2 Ezekiel is set in the middle of the valley. It didn’t matter which way he looked; he saw the same thing. “Ezekiel needs a conviction of his own utter inability to change a thing before he can be an instrument of God’s redeeming grace.” Discuss

2.Read v3 What’s the logical answer to that question? Share some things that you would love to change but you can hardly even begin to think how they will. Come on…..be radical. Don’t think small here. What could be more daunting than a valley full of very dry, very dead bones!!

3.Read v4 God told Ezekiel to “…hear the Word of the Lord’ What is it that is so compelling about the Word of God? See also 1 Corinthians 1:21 What happens when Churches / Christians give a low priority to hearing and understanding the Word of God?

4.Read v9 What a message for our market driven, user friendly Church. “By our own strength and wisdom we can build and run a magnificent church….but if we want to see the spiritually dead raided to life we need the breath of the Holy Spirit.” Discuss

5.Ezekiel 37 is a message of great hope in the midst of great hopelessness. We are living in a day where there is so much fear, apprehension, disillusionment and brokenness. How does Ezekiel 37 give hope for our world?
