Date: January 7, 2007
Passage: 1 Corinthians 2:1-5
Message: This One Resolution
New Year 2007
We live in a world full of experts these days and yet sometimes too many experts can take the fun out of life.
We get confused when experts disagree!
Eg.
Food – Not sure eat….yummy food bad for you
Travel – experts put travel warnings on whole world
Raise our kids, Invest our money….
Even New Year’s Resolutions are out!
This has traditionally been a time when we recognise what we need to do, start, stop…..
Fan The Flame: 2 Timothy 1:1-12 Neil Ryan
Date: April 3, 2005
Passage: 2 Timothy 1:1-10
Message: Fan the Flame
I have to confess that this message has something to do with me being away for an extended time over the next few weeks.
Call it paternal, call it pastoral or call it just being a control freak, but I do feel strange going away at this particular time.
There's a fine line as a Pastor knowing that our role is to care for the flock, and yet to remember that above all, HE [Christ] is the great shepherd. He knows how to care for us all.
Reminds me of a story I read during the week.
When Disaster Strikes: Psalm 22,29 - Neil Ryan
Date: January 16, 2005
Passage: Psalm 22, 29
Message: When Disaster Strikes
Theme: Asian Tsunami Crisis / Eyre Peninsular Fires
I found preparation for this message both humbling and difficult.
Here I am trying to see how my theology sits with disasters like we have had in Asia and Eyre peninsular.
Knowing full well that my best attempts will always have that element of distance compared to those who are bereft and broken from the tragedies.
