'No one else dared join them.' (5:13)
Now there's a church growth text if ever there was one!
Luke records that the believers met together in Solomon's Colonnade - part of the temple structure. No doubt enjoying what he had earlier (Acts 2:42) said was a part of their practice - devoting themselves to the fellowship.
News of Ananias and Sapphira's demise had spread. The apostles were performing miraculous signs and wonders.

Marie was surprised that I did not begin or end my sermon last week with an illustration from our visit to Brisbane. The Guest speaker at he Anniversary of the City Tabernacle Baptist Church was Dr Derek Tidball, principal of the London School of Theology. He said that a newspaper had called George Bush the reluctant host because he had given less black tie receptions than any recent president. You can see how that would have fit in to the theme last week. It has application for today as well.

I did not realise it when I wrote the Bulletin front page, but the airline Virgin Blue refers to its passengers as 'guests'. They are quite accommodating. Given my height, they gave me a seat with greater leg room. Their website for online booking refers to guests with special needs - guests travelling with oxygen bottles

guests travelling with animals
guests with anaphylaxis
guests requiring medical sharps
