PRAYING FOR IRANIAN CHRISTIANS

Alice YoungFrontPage, News, Pastor

Hello, church! I am Mehdi, the leader of the Iranian church in Adelaide. As all of you are aware of the significance of prayer, I wanted to share of the impact of prayer on our country, Iran. Until 2001, the number of Christians inside and outside Iran was around twenty thousand. This number increased to one million by 2010 and reached two and a half million by 2020. However, the actual number is likely higher, but having accurate statistics is not possible due to the Iranian government being Islamic and opposed to Christian teaching.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 encourages continuous prayer, and Matthew 28:19 instructs us to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The prayers of Christians worldwide are powerful, and God hears and answers our prayers. The increase in the number of Christians in Iran is a result of the prayers of all Christians. God is using our efforts which have been ongoing for years. Iranian Christians abroad use every possible means to send Bibles to Christians inside Iran and work with them via Skype.

Two weeks ago, through the Iranian church at Unley Park, a bible was sent to a family in Iran. We did this carefully to avoid government harassment. We value your prayers and support for these evangelistic efforts. We hope to send more books to more people and assist them through home churches in Iran, teaching them about faith in Jesus. Of course, sending these books is expensive, and we need your support.

This Saturday night, 6pm, we are excited as we will baptize two new Christians in the Iranian church. You are very welcome to join us.

With thanks

Mehdi
