Revelation 6:9,10 When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained. They called out in a loud voice, “How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?”
Each year we participate in International Day of Prayer for The Persecuted. This is a time when Christians across the world ask God for the violence to stop. Tragically, there millions of our brutalised,
displaced, and grieving persecuted Christian family. In prayer we seek God’s justice, healing, restoration, and peace.
We support globally persecuted Christians through “Open Doors”. Since 1955, founded by Brother Andrew, Open Doors has been serving the persecuted and strengthening the Church. Open Doors help churches like ours be informed, respond, and support persecuted Christians. On Sunday we will also be receiving an offering for the ministry of Open Doors.
Currently, Open Doors rates the follow places as the most dangerous to be a Christian.
North Korea, Somalia, Yemen, Libya, Sudan. You can read more at their World Watch List page. You can download the digital Prayer card here. Or you can follow the posts on our facebook page.
Many Christians in Australia are thankful we can follow Jesus freely and safely. Around the world, others face danger for their faith. This week, let’s pray, learn, and stand with our persecuted brothers and sisters.
In Him,
Jason
