When our life with Jesus helps others—sometimes it is just down the road. Over the past few years, we’ve watched God grow a healthy, hopeful culture at UPBC. People have stepped up. Ministry has expanded. New partnerships have flourished. And now, another invitation has arrived—right on our doorstep.
Flinders Street Baptist Church (FSBC) is a historic sister church in the heart of the city. They’re in a season of transition and have asked for our support. We’re not taking anything over. We’re simply coming alongside them so they can regain stability, clarity, and hope for the future.
This opportunity aligns beautifully with our heart as a church. We want our life with Jesus to help others. We love to work with others to strengthen kingdom of God impact. And right now, we have the capacity, proximity, congregation, and staff to offer real help.
The proposal is simple: a 6‑month pilot partnership from April to September 2026. I will provide pastoral support & leadership for FSBC. My time will be capped at 0.35 FTE each week and fully funded by FSBC. This allows us to add a Pastoral Associate at UPBC for the same period—ensuring our care and ministry at home remains strong.
On Sunday 22 March, we’ll ask our Church Members to approve this pilot. It’s low‑risk, fully funded, and reviewed at both the 3‑ and 6‑month marks. Most of all, it’s a chance to bless another church and strengthen gospel ministry in the CBD. Over the weekend, we will email the proposal to the congregation. Let me know if you want a copy.
Let’s step forward with faith. Let’s pray boldly. And let’s see what God might do through this opportunity just down the road.
In Him,
Jason
