How to find life in the midst of the Demands

If only life was predictable and simple. Recent statistics suggest we’re not doing well in this game called “Life”.

Physical health

2/3 of Australian adults are overweight/obese which is a significant contributor to Australia’s total disease burden (financial and quality of life). The majority of diseases are linked to poor diet, alcohol, drugs and physical inactivity;

Mental health

Approximately ½ of all Australians will experience a mental illness in their life. Suicide is the leading cause of death for men under the age of 44, greatly exceeding the Australian road toll. On average, 1 in 6 women in Australia will experience depression and 1 in 3 women will experience anxiety during their lifetime

Relationship health

One in four Australians experience social isolation and loneliness. Despite being more connected via social media, 16-25 year-olds are the loneliest of all age groups. Over one in three men (37%) are not satisfied with the quality of their relationships, typically because they do not feel they are emotionally connected or supported. Most Australian women are unsatisfied within their de facto / marriage relationships as the years go by.

How did we get ourselves into this state and how do we move to a healthier space?

In this rapidly changing world some of us may be confused about our purpose in this game called “Life”, and whether this is as good as it gets!
