The benefit of thankfulness

Alice YoungFrontPage, News, Pastor

Thankfulness is such a positive emotion. It is based on trust and security, believing in the benevolence of others, and God. It is optimistic as it sees good through whatever life has dished up. It is an expression of humility as we are grateful for what has been given, beyond ourselves.

Can you see why, given our year it is vital we are thankful. I think we need security, optimism, humility. Some of us by nature are thankful people. Many are not. This may be one of the most important habits we could learn in life. It is certainly one of the most important habits for our church and Christians. I say this because fundamentally we exist for the glory of God. In our thankfulness, our praise, our worship God is given glory.

I love our Thanksgiving Sunday for this reason. We celebrate what matters, and in doing so we bring glory to God. There is so much to be thankful for.

Enjoy,
