THE IMPACT OF A MOTHER

Alice YoungFrontPage, News, Pastor

Recently dear friends of mine lost their mother to cancer. Mother’s Day will be a difficult day. Their mum was the hub of the family. Her grandson named her the family’s “wisdom keeper and memory maker.” She was a powerful combination of servant, leader, softness, and strength. Her sacrifices, her tears, her joy, her faith, her love have formed her husband, her family, her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren in countless, life changing ways. This woman made many significant contributions in the world. She would have counted as her most vital, her family.

I know we are prone to eulogise when people die, but the positive impact of this mother is observable, across generations. We shouldn’t take this for granted. We know family influence can also have negative impact. Given this, can we work hard at our significant relationships? In all our pursuits, know the great good we can do is firstly at home. Know as well, it is not insignificant to be a mother. Generations can be strengthened through a mother’s service, leadership, softness, and strength.

In Him,

Jason
