Thanking God for our church

Alice YoungFrontPage, News, Pastor

I am thankful for our church. People often ask me how our church is going. As I have said before, I find that a complex question. I know our joy and sorrow, our strength and weaknesses. Yet, when I focus on our people, I am thankful.

Our church is filled with kind, hopeful, honest, generous, godly people.

As we wrap our series from 1 Corinthians 13, I can see how love is at work. Because we are not perfect people, we exercise patience. People take the risk of speaking truth, in love. We have in our community a beautiful diversity of people, who may not choose to be friends, but choose together to be God’s family. I know people can be hurt by the lack of love from Christians. In our church, I believe the demonstrated love of God among us brings healing.

I commend each person in our church for choosing to love others. Thank you for choosing to notice others. Thank you for helping people belong. Thank you for your encouragement, belief and hope. Thank you for your generosity in service and finances. Thank you for your care. Thank you for your prayers.

How is our church going? God is blessing us with wonderful, loving people. It is going well.

In Him
