Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Romans 12:2a (NIV)
This is one of the verses from Romans 12 which we explored last Sunday, as we discovered how to offer ourselves to God as a living sacrifice. I wonder how you’ve been going this week with renewing your mind. Remember it is a lifelong project which takes practice and can’t be rushed. I thought I’d share a few ways I have used to keep renewing my mind. Some of these I have mentioned before, others may be new.
- Listen to a 15 min episode from Things Above podcast by James Bryan Smith. Smith’s aim is to give our minds something good, true and holy to dwell on. Things Above is on Spotify and other podcast platforms.
- Listen to a daily devotional app like Pray as You Go or Lectio 365.
- Choose a Bible verse to memorise and repeat it each morning as you wake.
- Write a prayer for your own use to focus on the day ahead or the day just gone.
- Listen to/read/watch the news and use it as a prompt to pray.
- Check out the tools on the YouVersion Bible app – they have all sorts of things.
I’d love to help you with some mind renewing rhythms if you’d like to chat further.
Love to you all, Miranda.
