“For nothing is impossible with God”

Alice YoungFrontPage, News, Pastor

On Monday, the church hall echoed with the sounds of kids singing the song “Jesus you’re my superhero…better than Spiderman, better than Superman, better than Batman, better than anyone”.  The day was filled with activities that involved all things ‘super’, from navigating obstacles courses to knocking down villain figurines with paper planes! Within a short time, all the kids were reciting Luke 1:37, “for nothing is impossible with God”, learning about how Jesus calmed the storm and did some amazing ‘super’ things.  Chris B told the children of four important superhero characteristics that Jesus displayed: he was kind, he was brave, he was powerful, and he rescued people. Ashleigh P talked about the story of the Good Samaritan and how, with God’s help, we can be kind, brave and help people too.

This lesson was reflected in the wonderful Kids Quest team we had helping for the day – I think they were all ‘SUPER’! From teenagers to older adults, everyone displayed kindness to the children and bravery in stepping out of their comfort zone to spend a whole day with energetic young children!! Their efforts also helped others by providing an opportunity for the message of Jesus power, kindness and love to be heard.

Kids Quest is a great way to keep connected to families in our community. 26 of the 37 children attending Kids Quest were known to us through playgroup or invited by our Kids Church friends. Many of them have no other church connection. Please pray with us in faith, that seeds of the gospel will bear fruit in the lives of these kids and their families and that even deeper connections can be built. Pray that through this holiday program people will be drawn nearer to Jesus and come to know him! “For nothing is impossible with God”.

Blessings,

Sarah
