Dare2Care

Next Friday night, our youth group will be part of Dare2Care, a combined youth night connected with Baptist Care’s WestCare Centre. It will help young people think about how their time, talents and resources can be used to serve others as part of Christian discipleship.

That is a lesson for all of us.

Generosity is not just about money. It is about the shape of our lives. It asks a simple question: “What has God given me, and how can it bless someone else?”

At Dare2Care, young people will learn about some of the challenges faced by people supported through WestCare. They will also have a practical opportunity to help fill Hope Hampers, which provide non-perishable food items for people experiencing an emergency food crisis.

This matters because discipleship is never only about what we believe. It is seen in how we live. We follow Jesus with our words, choices, our habits, wallets, calendars and our compassion.

After the event, our youth will be encouraged to find a practical way to raise funds for WestCare’s dining area. That is a great challenge for all of us too. How might generosity become more visible in your life this week? Perhaps it will be a meal, a gift, a conversation, a hope hamper, a prayer.

Generosity is a vital discipleship habit. As we give, God shapes our hearts, our priorities and our way of life.

In Him,

Jason
